I got one job doing a socio survey for EIA. The survey cover 3 different area which were Kg. Kedaik area, Merchung area and Pulau permatang pauh area. The project proponet was Jabatan Perikanan.
The project is planned to develop the areas with aquaculture project. The project is planned to rear the kerapu, tilapia, tiger prawn and giant freshwater prawn. This will project under High Impact Product which will boost the local economy and state income as a whole.
During the survey, a lot of thing we learn especially when interview Orang Asli. Their village and people remind me the old malay kampung that i used to live with. But the different is while we used to live with cat their seem living harmony with dog. These dogs act a alarm to protect from wild boar destroying their crop.
Here the tribe is Jakun. Their name just like malay name but believe in spirit of the forest(animismn).

Snippet 4 : Socio Project for Kuala Lipis-Kemaman Project
It seem not easy looking job especially for newbies like me. While waiting for that job to come( in your dream). I'm doing part time job, which is diverse from engineering aproach. Doing socio-economy survey job. This is field work where u must go on the ground looking for primary data apart secondary data from readily published report. Really tuff job if u ask me. Doing last Ramadhan, muslim fasting month.
The survey cover from Kuala Lipis to Kemaman. About 1500 questionare and cover 200km distance. Interesting place is Kuala Tahan(Taman Negara), Kuala Tembeling(jetty to Taman negara), Jerantut(patin fish masak tempoyak), and Sg Lembing(ex-tin mine.
So we got the data needed as some interesting story from old timers(Sg Lembing). This man told his experience in his tins mine job. He told his risky job, the chalenge during flood season, the up and down of the ex-mine. He has the collection of mine ore where it was very heavy compare to normal rock. The tunnel is about 3km deep. Water Need countinuesly pumped. They have cinema back then. We also met people told their problem, political isues, and their hope. And one resettlement, from outside the main road, it seem nothing, but when we enter. it suprisingly to see there have mosque, school and 500 people living within it. And also have train station where this is their main transportation.
Apart from job done. i got priceless experience that can't get from book and inspire me to do something. That for now.

1st job
my first job is to prepare a proposal for a impact of sewerage in quality of river in peninsular malaysia. well, the expentation from the client is high and the delivered time only 3 month. To simplify it, the current data tend to put a blame on the sewerage operator regarding the deterioration of river water quality. this based on data presented in department of environmental.
to analyses the data. a set of data needed before, startup and after operation of the said operator. the research, journal and other publication also need to look into to come up with hypothesis. other source need to be identified like point source and nonpoint source. this needed land use data. Others also including the population as this will increase the sewage load.
at the end, the data will predicted by somesort of model. whether QUAL2EU or artifial neural network(ANN). that it. no technical explaination. just search internet and u will get an idea. so the proposal has been submitted. just wait whether can beat other competitor. haha.

Life move on
At last, i graduated with a good result. Master of environmental engineering. And this subject i got A. haha, really thank a lot to my lecturer. So, should i dumb this blog, huh like i would do. better continue the thing we started. and when it will ended. like i know, but let me make it simple. the fight to have better life will never end as long human exist. haha.
life goes on. one down, two more to go. work and settledown. I now started from nil, found a company that deal about environmental issue. Not an easy job, but time will tell. maybe not successful but the experience is what i needed. it long way to go and really high barrier to climb up. just do it step by step is what my strategies is. and the important thing is pray to god and have faith.

Snippet 2 : Earth Hour 2009
Earth Hour: TNB Records 550MW Drop
KUALA LUMPUR: Although the Earth Hour campaign last Saturday resulted in electricity consumption dipping by 550 megawatt but Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is not complaining.
Rather, TNB accepted that the hour-long campaign, which began at 8.30pm, was for a good cause.
The 550 megawatt is equivalent to 14 million fluorescent bulbs of 40 watt each.
"While this minor fall in demand will result in a slight shaving of our revenue, we accept that Earth Hour is for a good cause," said TNB president/chief executive officer Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh in a statement here Monday.
He said, during the one-hour period of the energy conservation initiative, TNB staff were extra vigilant, in the event of untoward operational snags.
"Everything went on very smoothly and we were able to respond to the slightly lower demand, without any operational glitch.
"Demand peaked almost rapidly at 9.30pm, to follow the normal Saturday evening demand pattern," added Che Khalib.
He said TNB was surprised by the support and appreciation demonstrated by many of its customers on the worldwide Earth Hour campaign. - Bernama
